Present Simple Tense

Present Simple Tense
   USES of Simple Present Tense:
1.       Routine activities and actions due to habit(Repeated Actions)
He drinks tea every day early in the morning. (It is habit and also routine activity)
→He stammers in speaking. (Stammering is his habit)
→I go to school daily. (Routine activity)
2.       Law of Nature
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. (Law of nature)
The moon rises in the west.
3.       Permanent facts and Proverbs
→We walk with our feet. (This is Permanent fact)
→Love never dies. (Proverb and Permanent fact)
4.       Thoughts and feelings
→ I think this is not a right decision. (Thought)
→ I love you. (Feeling)
5.       In sentences beginning with ‘Here’ and ‘There’ to show the action happening at the moment of speaking and these types of sentences are typically exclamatory
  Here comes Heren!
→There goes the thief!
6.       For future actions especially when it is prearranged
  He leaves for India tomorrow.
    Form of Simple Present Tense:
Subject+Verb+Object
In the simple present tense the verb is used without ending except in the third person singular.
For example:
1.       I like you
2.       I love you
3.       We watch T.V. every day at night.
4.       You go to office daily.
  In the Third Person Singular s or es is add to the verb. (Third Person Singular is HE, SHE, IT)
For example:
1.       He loves to read newspapers.
2.       She likes you
3.       It looks like gold.
4.       He goes office daily.
5.       He mixes water in the milk.
  es’ is added to the verb ending with s, ss, sh, ch, x and o.
        NEGATIVES: In negative sentences we use (do not=don’t) and (does not=doesn’t). Does not is used in the third person singular and in the third person plural do not is used.
 Do not add‘s’ or 'es’ to the verb in negatives.
Example:
1.       I do not know what to do now.
2.       We do not play chess.
3.       He does not play cricket.
4.       You do not know what’s going on there.
5.        Elephants do not play chess, but they can play cricket. (Third Person Plural).

    QUESTIONS: In questions DO or DOES is added before the subject.
  And also do not add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the verb.
For Example:
1.       Do I tell you anything?
2.       Do we obey our parents?
3.       Do you like cricket?
4.       Does he go to school regularly?

   Wh- Questions: In Wh- questions ( Who,What,When,Where, Which,Whom,Why, How) is added before DO or DOES.
For example:
1.       What do you think?
2.       Where does he live?
3.       How do you go to school?

   Negative Interrogative Sentences:
1.       Do I not go to school daily?
2.       Does he not think about you?
3.       Why don’t you trust your father?
